So, it’s once again bright but cool out, here in the Nation’s Capital, and while it looks like Saturday will be a wet day, Sunday looks like it’ll be quite lovely. Which is nice to see.
Things are chugging along on my research paper. Slowly but surely, and all of that. Also, the head of the department should have someone in mind to be my thesis supervisor by later today, so that’ll be a nice development, as it will start another chain of events that will all help keep me on track, and so on.
Otherwise, my plans for this weekend include brunch, working on my research paper, working on another assignment for class, and there rests the possibility of either watching a movie with my friend the Glamazon staffer, or dinner with another friend – depending on how our schedules align.

So, it’s sunny but cool out in the Nation’s Capital today. It’s still nice for November, so I’m not complaining.
Work on my research paper proceeds slowly but surely. Not much else going on but that, which is just as well. I just need to have some uninterrupted time to make some pretty solid progress and I’m sure that momentum from that point will carry me, but it’s getting that uninterrupted time that I’m most concerned with.
Otherwise, I have a TA workshop that I need to attend this evening, so that’s going to cut into my time for everything. On the plus side, though, they’re offering pizza, so I’m not going to complain too much about it. It does, however, mean that I won’t get to go to the gym tonight, which I’m as thrilled about. Alas. But hey, Surrey Boy is at a job interview today for a full-time, permanent position. Yay!

So, it looks like it’s going to be another pleasant day here in the Nation’s Capital, which will be good for all the Remembrance Day ceremonies going on – not that I’ll be able to partake in them, as I’ll be spending my morning doing my TA duties. Joy!
I didn’t get nearly as much research as I had planned on accomplished yesterday – bugger. Plus, two of the books that I’d been hoping to reference – are currently out of the University library. *sigh* Alas!
It’s my late class tonight, so my only evening plans will be to watch The Tudors when I get home. Also – it looks like Surrey Boy might actually be getting a job, possibly even by the end of the week. That’ll be a huge relief if it all comes together.

So, it’s nice and sunny out today in the Nation’s Capital. And while it’s unlikely to be as warm as it was yesterday – a mind-boggling plus seventeen in freaking November – it’s still shaping up to be a very nice day out.
It’s almost like a day off for me – no classes, the House not sitting, no articles on the go. But oh, wait – I have a research paper or three to work on. Right. So guess what I’m up to? You guessed it – research. Today’s goal is to do the literature review for said paper, and get that written up. Oh, and I have journal articles to read for class tomorrow. So that’s my day.
We had a bit of a “family discussion” last night with Surrey Boy and impressed upon him the importance that he gets a job – any job – right away. So, fingers crossed that it happens.
PS—Heather Mallick has another column over on CBC.ca, and she talks about the way that we’re now treating public spaces as private property – and complaining loudly about it – in our newfound insistence of the gross unfairness of life. And by the gods, she still manages to make me laugh doing it.

So, it looks like it’s going to be a nice day out today, here in the Nation’s Capital, with the sun shining and a high in the double-digits. It’s a welcome change from some of the bitter cold of the past week.
My schedule now consists of three research papers, the first of which is due in about two weeks, the other two in less than a month. All of them hold serious portions of my final marks. And thus, I have begun work on them. I don’t have any articles on the go at the moment – I was supposed to hear back about one on Friday and never did – but that could change at any time. But also, given that the House isn’t sitting this week, I plan to use the extra time, as much as possible, to get as much work done on these papers as possible this week.
Otherwise, my cold is nearly gone and life is more or less as normal as it’s going to be for the next month. No plans tonight except for a bit of telly, and of course, more work on those papers.
