So, it’s nice and sunny out today in the Nation’s Capital. And while it’s unlikely to be as warm as it was yesterday – a mind-boggling plus seventeen in freaking November – it’s still shaping up to be a very nice day out.
It’s almost like a day off for me – no classes, the House not sitting, no articles on the go. But oh, wait – I have a research paper or three to work on. Right. So guess what I’m up to? You guessed it – research. Today’s goal is to do the literature review for said paper, and get that written up. Oh, and I have journal articles to read for class tomorrow. So that’s my day.
We had a bit of a “family discussion” last night with Surrey Boy and impressed upon him the importance that he gets a job – any job – right away. So, fingers crossed that it happens.
PS—Heather Mallick has another
column over on CBC.ca, and she talks about the way that we’re now treating public spaces as private property – and complaining loudly about it – in our newfound insistence of the gross unfairness of life. And by the gods, she still manages to make me laugh doing it.
